Disease investigation must be accompanied by provision of advice to owners and village authorities as appropriate. If necessary, treatment should be provided and any biosecurity requirements can be applied. The investigator must report the findings of the investigation in accordance with district reporting practice. iSIKHNAS has a facility for doing this by SMS messaging. If available it should be used, as this will link the case to the investigation and any follow-up or laboratory submission that has taken place. It will also include this information in reports as requested at dinas, province and national level.
